The CVD/Diabetes patient registry is a centralized registry for patients diagnosed of CVD/Diabetes for the entire Western Visayas region. The registry is a collaboration between the three main hospitals in Western Visayas namely: Western Visayas Medical Center (WVMC), The Medical City Iloilo (TMCI), and Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospitals (CLMMRH) in Negros Occidental.
According to the Department of Health (DOH), Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) and Diabetes remain as one of the most prevalent diseases and leading causes of mortality of Filipinos. If successful, the CVD/Diabetes patient registry will serve as a source of high-quality data for scientists and researchers to use in research and development towards better treatment and diagnosis on Filipino patients with CVD/Diabetes.
The project was initiated in 2019 by Drs. Romulo de Castro and Gerard Dumancas, Balik Scientists recognized by the Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (DOST-PCHRD).
